1. INTRODUCTION (Quick Visual Guides, Main menu Quick Reference)

HEC RO stands for HEC Rip-Off. You or anyone else can click on your HEC RO item to remove it (rip-off). Depending on the rip-off mode, they can also bring it back with a 2nd click. You can configure rip-off mode, emoting, genitals auto-hide, access control, and much more.

Setting up is mostly done via the Setup Menu when you (the owner) click on your HEC RO item (hint: if you just want to rip-off your own item, select the DO button in the menu). Additionally, you can rez the item and modify its clickable area, which is an invisible prim around the item.

Quick Visual Guides

Quick Video Heads Up

NOTE:

This section is intended only as a Quick Reference, after you have read the full docs.

It is strongly recommended to reset your HEC RO item(s) once, and optionally re-configure it, in order to ensure proper functionality at all times.

The following video guides you step by step:

Starting at 8:08, the next video briefly demonstrates more HEC RO configuration options without getting into details, but it does familiarize you with the process:

• Added ■ PRIVATE sub-menu button in Main Menu, but not implemented yet

Limitations

• This version is NOT backwards-compatible! Please use Redeliver to update your HEC RO Enabled items!

• On detach, enabled genitals will auto-show ONLY if detacthing is done from within the HEC RO menu (DO button when in detach-mode, or TAKE OFF button when in hide-mode). This also ensures that you will never end-up with a hidden item in your inventory.

• Only the removal emoting-text is editable (rip-off). For other cases (such as, showing back a hidden item, or trying to rip-off a locked item, etc) HEC predefined messages are used. However, some of them can be disabled.

• HEC RO packs lots of features in just one script, being lag friendly. It still leaves room for more than a total of 50-60 usernames in your White/Black lists (with average name-lengths). However, if you ever get an Overflow error, first thing you should try is to clear your lists (rez the item, Right click, Edit, in Contents tab select Reset Scripts). If that fails, just unpack a fresh copy of the item from the original pack (or redeliver a new copy).

• The total length of the emoting-text, including unparsed Reserved words and hide-mode hint, cannot be more than 121 letters. Anything longer will get truncated silently.

• The total length of text appearing inside any menu cannot be more than 512 letters. Anything longer will get truncated silently to avoid overflow-errors.

• The total length of inputted text via a textbox menu cannot be more than 250 letters.

• When  Rip-Off mode is set to HIDE, avoid using the Show/Hide button on the item’s HUD, else the emoting will probably get out of sync (you can bring it back in sync, by clicking again on your HEC RO item, and selecting DO in the menu).

3. HEC RO vs REGULAR VERSION

Usually, when you purchase a HEC RO enabled item, you get 2 versions for all the included mesh sizes. They may be boxed as 1 pack, or as 2 separate packs.

Either way, the name of all Regular-version sizes start with “HEC“, while the name of all HEC RO sizes starts with “HEC RO“, as illustrated in the screen-shot on the side.

HEC RO sizes have copy/modify permissions, so you can perform Manual Script Updates and re-define their click-able area. Regular HEC sizes have copy-only permissions, so they cannot be modified.

HEC RO items can be configured to operate similarly to their Regular counterparts, by Mutelocking them and disabling Private mode, but they use at least 1 extra script (Regular sizes use 1 script only).

Regarding the HUDs, if there is just 1 HUD it will work with both Regular and HEC RO versions. Else use the HEC HUD for Regular sizes, and the HEC RO HUD for HEC RO sizes.

In any case, the HUD works independently to the HEC RO script. Put otherwise, the HUD has nothing to do with HEC RO.  The HUD is a separate item in your inventory, and you can wear it to control the appearance of your garment (textures, styles, colors, sheer level, etc). HEC RO is a script inside the garment, controlled by a menu that pops up when you click on your garment.

4. MANUAL SCRIPT UPDATES

ATTENTION

Manual Script Updates are NO longer relevant (they will become again in the next version). Instead, REDELIVER your HEC RO items, either in-world or on Marketplace.

You may skip the rest of this section for now!

NOTE

Only HEC RO items can be updated manually, meaning their name must start with “HEC RO“. Items with their name starting with just “HEC” are not modifiable. Demos are also not modifiable.

HEC RO items come with modify permissions, so you can replace manually the HEC RO script in their Contents, with the latest version.

Obtaining The Latest HEC RO Script Pack

You can always grab the latest HEC RO Script Pack in-world, either from its vendor at the main-store, or as a notice attachment from the HEC group. In either case, you need to be a member of our in-world group  (there is a very small, one-time join fee).

HEC Group (SL): secondlife:///app/group/e4fdbc94-2461-4114-48d9-51973e26798f/about

If you do not know how to grab group-notice attachments, take a look at the screen-shot (click to enlarge it). It shows how to save in your inventory an item called “Xmas Freebies”, which has been posted in the HEC group as a notice attachment. The procedure is exactly the same for any attachment, hence for HEC RO Script Packs too.

Also, the screenshot shows the Firestorm viewer, but it should be pretty similar with any other viewer. After you get the attachment, look for it in your Recent items.

HEC RO Script Pack Contents

HEC RO Script Packs should first be unpacked as an inventory folder. Besides the script itself, they usually contain  a few more items (a notecard with extra instructions, a test-box to be used as a Guinea pig in case you don’t own a HEC RO cloth, etc).

The name of the script itself is of the form: hec-ro-vX.XX (with X.XX being replaced by the actual version).

Precautions

After a manual script update, your White and Black lists get cleared, so you may want to  back them up first. Also, if the new version is not backwards compatible with the version you are updating from, you will also have to reset HEC RO to factory-default settings via the RESET button inside its Main menu (so you may want to backup your CURRENT TEXT first).

NOTES

  • In a nutshell, if you don’t care about keeping your existing settings, just replace the script inside your HEC RO item, Reset Scripts from the Contents tab (Give attaching permission), wear it, and RESET it from within its own menu. Then re-configure it.
  • If you do not need support for Aeros genitals, delete the “** Aeros Partner Script API ** [2017h] (hectic1)” script from your HEC RO enabled item.

Quick Instructions (for experienced Residents)

  1. If the new version is backwards-compatible with yours, optionally backup your CURRENT TEXT and WHITE/BLACK Lists
  2. Unpack the latest HEC RO Script Pack
  3. Replace the script of your HEC RO item(s) with the one from the Script Pack
  4. If you need support for Aeros genitals, add also the “** Aeros Partner Script API ** [2017h] (hectic1)” script in your HEC RO item(s)
  5. Check the notecard included in the Script Pack, for any other items you may need to replace
  6. While the HEC RO item is still rezed, go to Contents tab, Reset Scripts and Grant Attach permissions
  7. Pick up the HEC RO item back to inventory, and RESET it from within its own menu
  8. Depending on step 1, “restore” your backed-up data, and re-configure the rest of the options
  9. For details about using the Setup Menu, please read the corresponding section further below.

Step by Step Instructions

  1. Get the latest HEC RO Script Pack from the in-world vendor (or the HEC group). There is a very small, one-time join fee.
  2. If the new version is backwards-compatible with yours, optionally backup your CURRENT TEXT and WHITE/BLACK Lists
  3. Make sure you are in a sim where you have rez rights and scripts are allowed.
  4. Rez on the ground the HEC RO Script Pack prim (do NOT give it Attach permission), Right-click, Open, Copy To Inventory. You should now have the pack’s contents into a folder in your inventory (delete the rezed pack prim).
  5. Rez on the ground the HEC RO item you want to update (at this point, it doesn’t matter whether you give it Attach permission or not), Right-click, Edit, and select its Contents tab
  6. Check the notecard included in the Script Pack, for the items you need to replace. At the very least you should replace the HEC RO script (hec-ro-vXXX), by deleting the old one from your rezzed item, and then dragging in the new one from the HEC RO Script Pack folder created in step 4.
  7. If you want support for Aeros genitals, add also the “** Aeros Partner Script API ** [2017h] (hectic1)” script in your HEC RO item(s)
  8. While still in the Contents tab, select the RESET SCRIPTS button and Accept Attach permissions
  9. Pick up the item back to your inventory
  10. You now need to RESET all settings of the updated item to factory-defaults. Add/wear your updated HEC RO item, click on it for its menu, and select the RESET button.
  11.  Depending on step 2 above, “restore” your backed-up data , as described in the Backing Up section, and re-configure the rest of the options. For details about using the Setup Menu, please read the corresponding section further below.

Repeat steps 2 to 11 for all HEC RO items you want to update.

The following video illustrates the whole process:

5. CLICKABLE AREA (Invisible Prim)

HEC RO items have a clickable area, defined by an unrigged invisible prim around them. To see it, use Alt + Ctrl + t on your keyboard (use the same to return back to normal view).

If you have basic editing skills in SL, feel free to re-adjust the invisible prim, but make sure you select it with the Edit linked option enabled in the Edit window, as shown in the screen-shot on the side.

Adjust the invisible prim while you are posed and wearing the item, else you won’t be able to see its exact position on your body. Once done, turn on your AO and check if the prim keeps covering your item even when your are moving. If not, re-adjust it further, or even attach it to a different bone on your body.

NOTE

If you change the item’s attaching point, then you definitely have to re-adjust the invisible prim too.

Resolving Conflicts with Other Clickable Wearables

If you are also using other clickable items (genitals, spankers, genital accessories, etc) you probably want to leave room for them too.

For example, to have your interactive mesh nipples working along with a HEC RO top, make sure that the invisible prim of the top does not completely cover the invisible prims of the nipples, as shown in the screen-shot above.

Inevitably, this will create a neutral area which will not respond to clicks, but you can fine tune the prim to leave a much smaller gap. Actually, the “neutral area” in that screen-shot is not entirely neutral, because there is a 3rd clickable item involved: my boob spankers (their invisible prims don’t show in the screenshot, because they “live” under my bra).

6. RIP-OFF MODE (Hide/Detach)

Rip-off mode: ○ HIDE 🔘 DETACH

By default, HEC RO items operate in detach-mode, meaning they get detached from you body when ripped off.

They can be set to operate in hide-mode, meaning they will get hidden when ripped off (still attached on you). In that case, a 2nd click on the (hidden) item will show it back on you.

To toggle between hide and detach mode, use the HIDE/DETACH button in the Main menu.

NOTES

  • On detach, enabled genitals will auto-show ONLY if detacthing is done from within the HEC RO menu (DO button when in detach-mode, or TAKE OFF button when in hide-mode)
  • Also, when HEC RO operates in hide-mode, avoid using the Show/Hide button on its HUD. Else the emoting will probably get out of sync (you can bring it back in sync, by opening again your HEC RO menu and selecting DO).

back to: |

7. EMOTING TEXT (Emote mode, Current text, Default text)

With HEC RO you can edit the rip-off emoting text to whatever you want. You can also opt to use the default text instead your custom one, or mute emoting altogether.

NOTE

Only the emoting for the actual rip-off (removal) is editable. Fixed messages are used for all other cases (re-showing a hidden item, clicking a locked item, etc). Also, do not use the # and @ symbols inside your text, because they are used internally for specific operations.

You can examine/change the current Emoted-text Mode in the Main menu.

back to: |

7.1. EMOTED-TEXT MODE

Emoted text: 🔘 CURent ○ DEFault ○ MUte

At any given time, you can have HEC RO emoting either the CURRENT TEXT, or the DEFAULT TEXT. Or, you can MUTE emoting altogether.

These options only work for unlocked items. Locked items emote their own, fixed messages.

CURRENT and DEFAULT text affect only the removal emoting, while MUTE disables emoting for all cases (item removal, item re-showing after being hidden, etc).

Note that no matter the active Emoted-text Mode, the Current Text Area at the top of the menu always displays the CURRENT TEXT.

By default, HEC RO emotes the CURRENT TEXT on item removal. To set a different mode, use the CUR/DEF/MU cycle-button, in the Main menu.

back to: |

7.2. CURRENT TEXT

In HEC RO terminology, CURRENT TEXT is the user-defined message to be emoted on item removal (when the item gets detached or hidden).

For your convenience, it is always displayed at the top of the Main menu.

The CURRENT TEXT can be just a (dull) plain message, or to spice things up a little, it may optionally contain a Hide-Mode Hint subtext and Reserved Words (shown in green and orange, respectively, in the screen-shot on the side).

Hide-Mode Hint and Reserved Words are both explained in detail in the next sub-sections. Notice though that Reserved Words may be freely used inside the Hide-Mode Hint too (as shown in the screen-shot, with the @ap Reserved Word).

To change/edit the CURRENT TEXT, use the ➜INPUT sub-menu.

To completely erase the CURRENT TEXT (thus no rip-off emoting), use the ERASE button in the Main menu.

back to: |

Hide-Mode Hint
———————————————————
Optionally, you may append at the end of CURRENT TEXT, a so-called Hide-Mode Hint subtext (shown in green, in the screen-shot above), making sure it starts with the # symbol .

The subtext will only get emoted when your item operates in hide-mode. It is intended as a hint to people that they can bring back your item with a 2nd click, so if you use it, try to have it saying something relevant.

To edit/delete the Hide-Mode Hint subtext, use the ➜INPUT sub-menu.

back to: |

Reserved Words
———————————————————
Furthermore, you may optionally throw in the CURRENT TEXT a few so-called Reserved Words for on-the-fly personalization. They must start with the @ symbol, and they must always be typed in lower-case (shown in orange, in the screen-shot above).

Before the CURRENT TEXT gets emoted to the pubic chat, HEC RO replaces each Reserved Word, as follows (see also the Examples section, further below):

List of Reserved Words (ALWAYS LOWER-CASE)

@tou: (stands for toucher) – It gets replaced by the name of the person who touched (clicked on) the item
@own: (stands for owner) – It gets replaced by the name of the item’s owner (you)
@it: (stands for item) – It gets replaced by the item’s name, as shown in your inventory (hint: you may rename the item, or just use type-in a name inside CURRENT TEXT).
@ap: (stands for attaching-point) – It gets replaced by the name of the bone the item is attached to on your body

Any other lower-case word starting with @ is NOT recognized (it will appear exactly as shown inside the text).

To add (or delete) Reserved Words in the CURRENT TEXT, you need to edit it via the ➜INPUT sub-menu.

back to: |

Examples
———————————————————
Let us assume the following:
• Mary Resident is your SL username
• John Resident is the SL username of the person who touched the item (clicked on it)
• HEC Top is the item name as shown in your inventory, and it is of course a top
• Chest is the body bone (point) the item is attached to

With the above assumptions, the 1st line of the following examples shows the CURRENT TEXT, the 2nd line shows the resulting emote when in detach-mode, and the 3rd line show the resulting emote when in hide-mode:

Example-01
(Current Text) I’ve been ripped off!
(detach-mode) I’ve been ripped off!
(hide-mode) I’ve been ripped off!

Example-02
(Current Text) My @it has been ripped off!#Please click my chest to bring it back.
(detach-mode) My HEC Top has been ripped off!
(hide-mode) My HEC Top has been ripped off! Please click my chest to bring it back.

Example-03
(Current Text) HELP! @tou just ripped off my top!#Click my @ap to dress me back!
(detach-mode) HELP! John Resident just ripped off my top!
(hide-mode) HELP! John Resident just ripped off my top! Click my Chest to dress me back!

Example-04
(Current Text) @own‘s @it has just been ripped off by @tou.#Anyone can click her @ap to restore it.
(detach-mode) Mary Resident’s HEC Top has just been ripped off by John Resident.
(hide-mode) Mary Resident’s HEC Top has just been ripped off by John Resident. Anyone can click her Chest to restore it.

Example-05
(Current Text) @own wakes up, looks down her @ap, and realizes she is missing her top!
(detach-mode) Mary Resident wakes up, looks down her Chest, and realizes she is missing her top!
(hide-mode) Mary Resident wakes up, looks down her Chest, and realizes she is missing her top!

Example-06
(Current Text) With a sudden move, @tou exposes @own‘s @ap, by ripping off her @it.
(detach-mode) With a sudden move, John Resident exposes Mary Resident’s Chest, by ripping off her HEC Top.
(hide-mode) With a sudden move, John Resident exposes Mary Resident’s Chest, by ripping off her HEC Top.

back to: |

7.3. DEFAULT TEXT

The default rip-off text can be temporarily used at any given time, instead of the CURRENT TEXT, by setting the Emoted-text Mode to: 🔘 DEFault, via the CUR/DEF/MU cycle-button in the Main menu.

The default text is also replacing the CURRENT TEXT when resetting to factory defaults, via the the RESET button in the Main menu.

The default text contains all Reserved Words and a Hide-Mode Hint subtext. It looks similar to this (without the tilde-lines):

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
@tou rips off @own‘s @it and throws it on the ground.#Click her @ap to dress her back!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

See also the Examples, above.

The default text is suitable for most cases, except that the Reserved Word @it produces the name of your item as shown in the inventory, and HEC RO items typically have very long names.

If you are not comfortable with editing the emoted text via the ➜INPUT sub-menu, you can rename your HEC RO item to whatever you want to be used for it in the emoting (or even better, keep a renamed copy of your original HEC RO item in the inventory).

NOTE

To rename a HEC RO item you need to rez it on the ground first.

back to: |

8. GENITALS AUTO HIDE

➜ GENITALS: ○ ASS ○ COCK ○ NIPS ○ PUSSY

Starting with version 1.87b, HEC RO can be configured to auto show/hide supported 3rd-party genitals, before and after the item’s rip-off (see below for a list of supported genitals so far).

For example, you can configure a HEC RO top to automatically show your mesh nipples when the top gets ripped off, and hide the nipples when the top is put back on you.

If  Rip-Off Mode is set to HIDE, then the genitals will show when your HEC RO item gets hidden, and they will hide when your HEC RO item gets re-shown with a 2nd click.

Genitals Behavior on Wear/Detach

No matter the active Rip Off mode, when genitals auto-hide is enabled, the specified genitals will get hidden every time you wear your HEC RO item from the inventory.

However, enabled genitals will re-show on detach ONLY if detaching is done through the HEC RO menu.

When the Rip-Off mode is set to DETACH, then a simple click on the HEC RO item (or a DO from the Main menu) will do the job. When Rip-Off is set to HIDE, then any enabled genitals will re-show ONLY if you detach your HEC RO item via the TAKE OFF button in the Main menu.

Put otherwise, detaching your HEC RO item directly from the inventory, will not update your enabled genitals.

The screen-shot above illustrates the genital options overview, as shown in the Main menu. In this example, only the NIPS option is enabled, so HEC RO will auto-hide only supported 3rd party nipples.

To actually change those settings you need to enter the ➜GENITALS SUB-MENU (described further below), via the ➜ GENITALS button.

NOTE

If you have Aeros genital(s), you need to Reset your HEC RO item, and hence Re-Configure it too, as shown in the following video, else you will get script errors on Detach/Take Off. You only need to do that once!

Supported Genitals (always use their latest versions)

• Aeros (Cocks: AxiomDariusMagnusNemoXerxes)
• LittleFish (Nipple)
• Sensations (Anus) (Clit) (Cock) (Nipples: MaitreyaSlink) (Vagina)
• Sinful Needs (Osiris Mesh Cock)
• VAW XTC (Ass: malefemale) (Cock) (Nipples: malefemale) (Vagina {Rigged})

NOTE

On detach, enabled genitals will auto-show ONLY if detacthing is done from within the HEC RO menu (DO button when in detach-mode, or TAKE OFF button when in hide-mode).

back to: |

9. BASIC ACCESS CONTROL (Lock/MuteLock, Unlock)

Lock status: ○ LOCK ○ MLOCK 🔘 UNLOCK

By default HEC RO items are unlocked, with advanced private mode also disabled. This means that anyone can rip them off by clicking on them.

The locking mechanism described in this section consists basic access control for your HEC RO items. For advanced access control, you should use the Private Mode, described in the  Advanced Access Control section. Locking and Private Mode work independently to each other.

You can quickly prevent others from ripping-off your HEC RO item by Locking/Mutelocking it, via the LOCK/MLOCK cycle-button in the Main menu.

You (the owner) are not affect by the locking. You will still be able to operate your “locked” HEC RO item normally.

The difference between LOCK and MUTELOCK is that, LOCKing emotes fixed messages when others try to interact with your locked item. It will also emote fixed messages only visible to you when you interact with your locked item (these will tell you whether you HID, SHOWED or DETACHED your item, thus hinting you about the currently active rip-off mode).

MUTELOCK disables emoting altogether. No emoting whatsoever, regardless the action (this is kinda like you are using a Regular HEC item, as opposed to HEC RO).

To unlock your item, use the UNLOCK button in the Main menu.

back to: |

10. ADVANCED ACCESS CONTROL (Private mode: Off, Ask, Whitelist, Blacklist)

➜ PRIVATE: 🔘 OFF ○ ASK ○ WHT|0 ○ BLK|0

The Private Mode offers advanced access control, via a dedicated sub-menu. For basic access control use the locking mechanism described in the corresponding section above. Locking and Private Mode work independently to each other.

The screen-shot on the side illustrates the Private Mode options overview, as shown in the Main menu. In this example, the Private Mode is set to Whitelist, which is currently empty (0 members):
🔘 WHT|0

To actually change those settings you need to enter the ➜PRIVATE SUB-MENU (described further below), via the ➜ PRIVATE button.

This section walks you through the general concepts and operations, but once again, for a visual overview of the sub-menu itself you should also read the ➜PRIVATE SUBMENU section.

Active Mode
———————————————————
Once inside the ➜PRIVATE sub-menu, you can set the private mode to OFF, ASK, WHITELIST or BLACKLIST.

Active Mode:
🔘 OFF ○ ASK ○ WHITELIST|0 ○ BLACKLIST|0

Corresponding buttons for each option are located at the bottom of the sub-menu.

Private mode is considered enabled, when OFF is disabled (put otherwise, when one of the other options is enabled). Note that any locking options set in the Main menu will still be in effect (locking affects both pubic and private modes, whichever is active at any given time).

OFF: It disables the Private Mode (“tells” HEC RO to operate in the default public mode).

WHITELIST: It allows access ONLY to authorized persons (whitelisted). Just add their usernames in your White list and make sure this option is enabled.

BLACKLIST: It allows access to everyone EXCEPT unauthorized persons (blacklisted). Just add their usernames in your Black list and make sure this option is enabled.

ASK: When this option is enabled, a new menu will pop-up every time someone clicks on your HEC RO item. In that menu you can temporarily Allow or Deny access, or you can Whitelist/Blacklist the toucher. If the toucher is already in your White/Black lists, a Remove button will also appear inside the menu.

NOTE

The total count of members of the White and Black lists, is shown at the end of their labels.

List Management (WHITE/BLACK)
———————————————————
You can add and delete persons from your White and Black lists. You can also clear your lists, and you can show their contents to the local chat. ➜Add➜Del, Clear and Show are the corresponding buttons, in the ➜PRIVATE sub-menu.

Defining the Active List

To define your White list as the active list, enable the WHITELIST mode:
Active Mode: ○ OFF ○ ASK 🔘 WHITELIST|0 ○ BLACKLIST|0

Similarly, to define your Black list as the active list, enable the BLACKLIST mode:
Active Mode: ○ OFF ○ ASK ○ WHITELIST|0 🔘 BLACKLIST|0

Adding in the Active List

TIP: The ➜Add button is NOT available when Private Mode is set to OFF or to ASK.

Before start adding new members, make sure they are present nearby! Use their username (no display names) when adding them by typing, else they will not be recognized.

Trying to add people already present in the non-active list, will move them to the active list.

You cannot add yourself in any list, because you always have access to your own HEC RO item.

Once added, member names will always get displayed in lowercase, in the form: first.last or name.resident (see: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Category:LSL_Avatar/Name).

In any case, watch your local chat for informative HEC RO messages.

There are 2 ways to add new members in the active list:

  • Define the active list, then select the ➜Add button for an input-menu (1st picture), then type-in & submit one or more usernames, 1 per line (no display names).
  • Change Private Mode to ASK, then have the person click on your HEC RO item. In the new menu that pops up (2nd picture), select the desired button (WHITELIST or BLACKLIST).
Remember to change Private Mode back to WHITELIST or BLACKLIST.

Deleting from the Active List
TIP: The ➜Del button is NOT available when Private Mode is set to OFF or to ASK.

Once again, there are 2 ways:

  • Define the active list, then select the ➜Del button for an input-menu (1st picture), then type-in & submit one or more usernames, 1 per line (no display names).
  • Change Private Mode to ASK, then have the person click on your HEC RO item. In the new menu that pops up (2nd picture), select the REMOVE button.
Remember to change Private Mode back to WHITELIST or BLACKLIST.

Clearing the Active List
TIP: The Clear button is NOT available when Private Mode is set to OFF or to ASK.

To delete all members of a list, define the active list by enabling WHITELIST or BLACKLIST, then select the Clear button.

Displaying List Members

You can display in local chat the contents of your White and Black lists, either one list at a time, or both lists at the same time.

To display the contents of both lists at the same time, make sure that the Private Mode is set to either OFF or ASK. Then select the Show button.

To display the contents of just one list, define the desired list by enabling WHITELIST or BLACKLIST, then select the Show button.

NOTE

Every time you perform a Manual Script Update, or you RESET from the Main menu, or you Reset Scripts in the Contents tab of a HEC RO Item, your White & Black lists get cleared. Consider taking a backup first.

11. SETUP MENU

For anything other than modifying the clickable area, configuration is done via the Setup Menu of your HEC RO item. It pops up when the item’s owner clicks on the item. Others do not get that menu.

Buttons & Sub-menus

The owner interacts with the menu and its sub-menus via buttons, always located at the bottom.

There are cycle-buttons, plain buttons, and sub-menu buttons.

Cycle-buttons are cycling through the values shown inside their label, separated by the / symbol (slash).  For example, every time you select the HIDE/DETACH button, the Rip-off Mode cycles between HIDE and DETACH. Similarly, the CUR/DEF/MU button cycles the Emoted-text Mode through CURrent, DEFault and MUte.

Plain buttons do not cycle through anything, instead they execute what is defined in their label. For example, the UNLOCK button removes all restrictions previously set by LOCK or MUTELOCK. In other words, it makes sure your item gets unlocked.

Sub-menu buttons have the ➜ prefix in their name. Their main purpose is to open a new menu (sub-menu) for further action.

NOTE

The following sub-sections provide overviews of all available HEC RO menus and sub-menus. Probably they will not be very useful, unless you are already familiar with the HEC RO concepts (described in all previous sections).

back to: |

11.1. MAIN MENU

click for Visual Guide

The CURRENT TEXT area at the top of the menu shows the text to be emoted on item removal, including the Hide Mode Hint subtext (if any) and the unparsed Reserved Words to be applied (if any).

Right after, the current status of all available options is listed (enabled/disabled). The names of those options are also hints about their controlling buttons, or the sub-menus containing their controlling buttons. Consider for example the following line, in the screen-shot:

Rip-off mode: 🔘 HIDE ○ DETACH

It denotes that hide-mode is now active, and hints that you can change to detach-mode via the HIDE/DETACH button at the bottom of the menu.

Options that can only be changed from within sub-menus, are shown right after the name of the sub-menu (sub-menu names start with ➜). Consider for example the following line, in the screen-shot:

➜ GENITALS: ○ ASS ○ COCK 🔘 NIPS ○ PUSSY

It shows the current status of the genital options (in this example, NIPS is the only enabled option) but in order to change them you need to enter the ➜ GENITALS sub-menu, via the corresponding button at the bottom of the menu.

Buttons Overview (Main menu)

DO: perform self rip-off (also, useful for testing). When in detach-mode, use this button instead of detaching the item directly from the inventory.

EXIT: close the menu without taking any further action

TAKE OFF: force a detach of the item when in hide-mode (this button is not available in detach-mode). When in hide-mode, use this button instead of detaching the item directly from the inventory.

➜ PRIVATE: open the ➜ PRIVATE sub-menu, for Advanced Access Control options

➜ GENITALS: open the ➜GENITALS sub-menu for genitals auto-hide options

➜ INPUT: copy the unparsed CURRENT TEXT to the the owner’s local chat, and open the ➜INPUT sub-menu (see the corresponding section, below)

LOCK/MLOCK: cycle the Lock status state between Lock and Mutelock. In either state, the HEC RO items gets locked for everyone but the owner. LOCK keeps the emoting on, but uses predefined messages. MUTELOCK disables emoting too.

UNLOCK: Remove LOCK/MUTELOCK restrictions (it has no effect when the item is not locked/mutelocked)

HIDE/DETACH: cyckle the Rip-off mode between hide and detach. In detach-mode, the item gets detached when ripped-off (this is the default mode). In hide-mode, the item stays attached but it gets hidden when ripped off. A 2nd click on the (hidden) item shows it back on you.

CUR/DEF/MU: cycle the Emoted-text Mode through CURrent, DEFault and MUte

ERASE: completely erase the CURRENT TEXT. This will result in no emoting on removal, but will keep the fixed emoting for all other cases. To temporarily disable all emoting, use the MUte option (via the CUR/DEF/MU button) instead.

RESET: reset everything to factory defaults, so you will need to re-configure your HEC RO item. Reset is typically required after a Manual Script Update.

NOTE

On detach, enabled genitals will auto-show ONLY if detacthing is done from within the HEC RO menu (DO button when in detach-mode, or TAKE OFF button when in hide-mode)

back to: |

11.2. ➜ INPUT SUB-MENU

click for Visual Guide

This is where you can freely change the CURRENT TEXT to anything you want, by typing it in the supplied edit-text area.

Every time you enter this sub-menu, the CURRENT TEXT is copied unparsed into your local chat, in case you just want to edit it instead of writing a completely new one. Copy and paste it from local chat into the supplied edit-text area, then start editing it.

Any desired Hide-Mode Hint subtext to be used, should be typed in at the end of the CURRENT TEXT, starting with the # symbol (hash sign).

Any desired Reserved Words to be used, should be typed inside the CURRENT TEXT manually. For your convenience, they are also listed inside the sub-menu.

Once done, select the Submit button. To Cancel out without changing anything, leave empty the edit-area and select Submit.

back to: |

11.3. ➜ GENITALS SUB-MENU

click for Visual Guide

This is where you can “tell” your HEC RO item to auto show/hide your 3rd-party mesh genitals, before and after the rip-off, provided they are included in our Supported Products list.

Excluding BACK (to Main menu) and EXIT, the remaining buttons in this sub-menu are on/off cycle buttons, toggling auto-hide functionality for the corresponding genital category.

In the screen-shot, NIPS is the only enabled category. This means that auto-hide functionality is enabled for any supported 3rd-party mesh nipples.

Use the All/None button to quickly enable/disable all categories at once (you may have to select this button twice).

You are free to enable all genital categories, but for realistic behavior (and even less lag) you should enable only those that make sense for your particular HEC RO item.

For example, a HEC RO top would probably only need NIPS enabled. A HEC RO thong would probably need both PUSSY and ASS, and so on.

NOTE

On detach, enabled genitals will auto-show ONLY if detacthing is done from within the HEC RO menu (DO button when in detach-mode, or TAKE OFF button when in hide-mode)

11.4. ➜ PRIVATE SUB-MENU

click for Visual Guide

This is where you configure the Advanced Access Control settings of your HEC RO item. The general concepts and operations have been already covered in the corresponding section, above, so please read that first.

The currently Active Mode is shown at the top of the sub-menu. For WHITELIST and BLACKLIST, the total count of their members is shown at the end of their labels, separated by the | symbol.

Brief explanations of all available options follow right after. The controlling buttons for those options are shown at the bottom.

Not all buttons are available at all times. For example, the ➜Add button (along with a few others) is shown only when WHITELIST or BLACKLIST is enabled.

The Active Mode options are controlled by the buttons labeled OFF, ASK, WHITELIST, and BLACKLIST, respectively. Each of these buttons enables the corresponding option, disabling all the others at the same time (you may know these type of buttons as “radio buttons”, from other software applications).

The list-management buttons ➜Add, ➜Del and Clear are displayed only when Active Mode is set to WHITELIST or BLACKLIST (they only make sense when the Active Mode is actually referring to a list).

The Show button is also a list-management button, but that one is always visible. This is because it operates on both lists when neither of them is active. If either WHITELIST or BLACKLIST is enabled, then the Show button operates on that list only.

Buttons Overview (Private sub-menu)

OFF: when enabled, the Private Mode gets disabled (HEC RO now operates in public mode).

WHITELIST: when enabled, only members of your White list have access to your HEC RO item (also, White list becomes the active list, and the buttons ➜Add, ➜Del and Clear appear in the menu).

BLACKLIST: when enabled, everyone BUT members of your Black list have access to your HEC RO item (also, Black list becomes the active list, and the buttons ➜Add, ➜Del and Clear appear in the menu).

ASK: when enabled, every time someone clicks your HEC RO item, you are getting a new menu with Allow, Deny, Whitelist, Blacklist buttons (if the toucher already exists in either of your lists, you are also offered a Remove button). See the screen-shot.

➜ Add (only when WHITELIST or BLACKLIST is enabled): open a text-input sub-menu, for adding usernames to the active list. See the screen-shot.

➜ Del (only ehen WHITELIST or BLACKLIST is enabled): open a text-input sub-menu, for deleting usernames from the active list.

Clear (only appears when WHITELIST or BLACKLIST is enabled): delete all members from the active-list.

Show: display in your local chat the contents of your White and/or Black lists (it shows both lists when Active Mode is set to either OFF or ASK, else it shows only the active list).

12. BACKING UP

NOTE

Before trying to “restore” your backed-up data to a newer version of HEC RO, make sure the new version is backwards compatible with the one you updated from. If you are not sure, do NOT “restore” (re-configure the new version from scratch instead)

The best backup candidates in HEC RO is your custom CURRENT TEXT, and the contents of your White and Black lists.

CURRENT TEXT reverts to the default text every time you RESET your HEC RO item from within its menu (typically needed after a Manual Script Update). The lists get cleared every time you perform a Manual Script Update, and also every time you RESET your HEC RO item from within its menu.

SL does not allow scripts to create or modify notecards. Even if it did, HEC RO is so feature-rich that probably wouldn’t be a good idea anyway to consume more of the limited resources SL provides to scripts for something that can be easily done manually.

It is pretty easy to keep your data in a notecard in your inventory (or even in a plain text file on your computer), and then just copying & pasting back and forth at will, between the notecard and any HEC RO item.

Current Text

To “backup” the custom CURRENT TEXT from a HEC RO item, simply copy it from the Main menu of the item and paste it into the notecard.

To “restore” your CURRENT TEXT to another HEC RO item, open the item’s menu, select ➜INPUT, paste the text from the notecard into the supplied area and Submit it.

White/Black Lists

To “backup” the contents of the White and Black lists from a HEC RO Item, use the Show button in the ➜PRIVATE sub-menu, to display the contents of the lists in your local chat. Then copy them from local chat and paste them into the notecard.

To “restore” your White & Black list contents to another HEC RO item, get to the ➜PRIVATE sub-menu of that item, define your active list, select ➜Add, then paste the list contents from the notecard into the supplied area and Submit them (the supplied area can hold limited amount of text, so for long lists you’ll have to paste multiple times).

13. Q & A

back to: |

13.1. GENERAL (Q & A)

Q.I messed up, can I reset to factory defaults?
A: Yes! Click your item, in the menu select the RESET button.

Q. Can I resolve conflicts with other clickable items (spankers, collars, nip rings, etc)?
A. Usually, yes! Most clickable items use invisible prims to define their clickable area. Try to re-adjust one or more of them. See the CLICKABLE AREA section above, for info on how to do that with HEC rip-off items.

back to: |

13.2. RIP-OFF MODE (Q & A)

Q. What is the difference between detach-mode and hide-mode?
A. In detach-mode the item gets detached from your body when ripped-off. In hide-mode, it just gets hidden (a 2nd click will re-show it)

Q. Any reason to prefer a mode over the other?
A. Detach mode makes it easier to sequentially remove overlapping RO items, because their invisible prims overlap too. Hide mode makes it difficult (or even impossible when invisible prims fully overlap, unless you re-adjust them), but it allows others to re-show the item with a 2nd click.

Q: How can I switch to hide-mode?
A: Click the item, in the menu select the HIDE/DETACH button till HIDE gets enabled under…
Rip-off mode: 🔘 HIDE ○ DETACH

Q: How can I switch to detach-mode?
A: Click the item, in the menu select the HIDE/DETACH button till DETACH gets enabled under…
Rip-off mode: ○ HIDE 🔘 DETACH

back to: |

13.3. ACCESS CONTROL (Q & A)

Q. Can I quickly prevent all people from ripping off my cloth?
A. Yes! Click your item, in the menu select the LOCK/MLOCK button until either LOCK or MLOCK gets enabled under…
Lock status: 🔘 LOCK ○ MLOCK ○ UNLOCK (or ○ LOCK 🔘 MLOCK ○ UNLOCK)

Q. Can I selectively grant/deny access on-the-fly?
A. Yes! Since version 1.91 you can have an access control mini-menu popping up every time someone clicks on your item. Click your item for the setup menu, get into the ➜PRIVATE sub-menu, set Active Mode to ASK…
Active Mode: ○ OFF 🔘 ASK ○ WHITELIST ○ BLACKLIST

Q. Can I deny access only to selected people?
A. Yes! Since version 1.91 you can keep a list of unauthorized people! Click your item for the menu, get into the ➜PRIVATE sub-menu, set Active Mode to BLACKLIST, then use the ➜Add sub-menu and type-in their usernames (now every time you set Private Mode to BLACKLIST you enforce that functionality).
Active Mode: ○ OFF ○ ASK ○ WHITELIST 🔘 BLACKLIST

Q. Can I grand access only to selected people?
A. Yes! Since version 1.91 you can keep a list of authorized people! Click your item for the menu, get into the ➜PRIVATE sub-menu, set Active Mode to WHITELIST, then use the ➜Add sub-menu to type-in their usernames (now every time you set Private Mode to WHITELIST you enforce that functionality).
Active Mode: ○ OFF ○ ASK 🔘 WHITELIST ○ BLACKLIST

back to: |

13.4. GENITALS AUTO HIDE (Q & A)

Q. Can I quickly enable/disable auto-hide for ALL genitals?
A. Since version 1.91, yes! Use the All/None button in the ➜GENITALS sub-menu.

Q. My genital(s) is listed as supported by HEC RO, I have enabled the proper option(s) in the ➜GENITALS sub-menu, but it is not working.
A. Please, first make sure you are wearing your genital(s). Then check if your genital(s) require you to give clearance for your HEC RO item to operate on it.

Q. I am wearing my genital(s), I have allowed my HEC RO item to operate on the genital(s), I have enabled the proper option(s) in the ➜GENITALS sub-menu, but it is not working.
A. Make sure you are using the latest version of your genital(s), and that it is supported by HEC RO (see section 3RD-PARTY GENITALS SUPPORT above). If both those conditions are met, and still it isn’t working please drop us a notecard.

Q. All the above mentioned conditions are true, but when I detach my HEC RO item, the genital(s) is not updated.
A. Please do not detach your HEC RO item directly from the inventory. Instead, click on your item to get the HEC RO menu, then use the DO button if in detach-mode, or the TAKE OFF button if in hide-mode.

back to: |

13.5. EMOTING (Q & A)

Q. I changed the CURRENT TEXT to my own, but now I’m getting an overflow script-error every time I try to use the menu. How can I fix it?
A. This was supposed to be fixed in previous versions. Please drop us a notecard! In the meantime, try unpacking a fresh copy of your HEC RO item (optionally perform a Manual Script Update to the latest version). Then you can edit/replace the default emoting-text in the ➜ INPUT sub-menu, using less letters.

Q. Can I change the info produced by the @it reserved-word?
A. Yes! Rez the item, edit it, change its Name, pick back to inventory. However, it is usually more convenient to just hard-code a name for your item inside CURRENT TEXT.

Q. Can I disable all emoting for locked items?
A. Yes! Click the item, in the menu select the LOCK/MLOCK button till MLOCK gets enabled under…
Lock status: ○ LOCK 🔘 MLOCK ○ UNLOCK

Q. Can I disable all emoting for unlocked items?
A. Yes! Click the item, in the menu select the CUR/DEF/MU button till MUte gets enabled under…
Emoted text: ○ CURrent ○ DEFault 🔘 MUte

Q: Can I disable just the rip-off (on remove) emoting?
A: Yes, but…! Click the item, in the menu select the ERASE button. Note however that this deletes the CURRENT TEXT, so you will have to write a new one in order to have emoting again on removal.

Q: Can I edit the rip-off (on remove) emoting message?
A: Yes! Click the item, in the menu select the ➜INPUT button, in the sub-menu copy & paste the CURRENT TEXT from local-chat into the supplied edit-text area, edit the text, then select the Submit button (to Cancel, leave the edit-text area empty and Submit).

Q: Can I disable or edit the rest of the emoting messages?
A: No at this time. However, you can disable all emoting (see previous questions on how to do that for unlocked and locked items).

Q. Can I non-destructively switch between custom and default rip-off emoting (on remove)?
A: Yes! Click the item, in the menu select the CUR/DEF/MU button till either CURrent or DEFault gets enabled under…
Emoted text: 🔘 CURrent ○ DEFault ○ MUte (or ○ CURrent 🔘 DEFault ○ MUte).

Q. Sometimes the emoting gets out of sync. Can I fix it?
A. This can happen if you have set your HEC RO item to hide-mode, but you tried to hide (or show it) using the Show/Hide button on the HUD instead of clicking on the item itself. To bring the emoting back in sync, click again on your HEC RO item, in the menu that pops up select the DO button.

Q. What’s the point of using Reserved Words?
A. They allow on-the-fly personalization and they provide a way to use info that otherwise wouldn’t be conveniently available to you (or at all). They give you the power to use avatar/item specific info in generic emotes that work with any item. They also help in keeping the text short.
